Education and Faith Minimize

R.C.I.A.

(Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)

The purpose of this ministry is to prepare candidates that are entering the Catholic faith to receive Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.  Assist with sacramental issues surrounding marriage.

We meet every Sunday, Sept through 2 weeks after Easter, at 9:00 Mass and the Parish meeting room.  We meet to Catechise candidates and offer support through sponsors.

An ideal candidate for this ministry would be a seasoned catechist, willing to share faith, have patience with questions, and knowing what resources are available to get answers.  The age requirement to join would be teen to adult.

The only training for this ministry is they should be a certified catechist to teach classes.  A sponsor just needs to be willing to share their faith.

Time commitment for this ministry is 2 to 3 hours every Sunday prior to Easter.

This ministry enlightens my life because I enjoy sharing the love of Jesus with others and watching people grow in faith is awesome!

The best moment was watching a young woman that I sponsored receive her Confirmation and Eucharist on Holy Saturday.  We both wept with joy!
