Catechist Reflection from Jen

Over the last ten years, I have had the privilege of being a Catechist at Transfiguration’s School of Religion.  In that time, I’ve enjoyed partaking in the journey the students go through as they learn about their Faith.

The student’s experiences in the classroom are invaluable.  They get to hear about scripture in a relatable way they can understand and therefore take those messages and carry them into their own lives.  It is amazing to see them interact with their peers, share their experiences and see them soak up information about their Faith.

They come away with a better understanding of what it means to be Catholic instead of just following along as they are directed.  This knowledge will make them more compassionate, loving and generous people as they learn the Good News that Jesus taught and expects in each of us.

I am truly proud to be a part of the School of Religious Education team and hope that parents continue to pursue educating their children in the program.
